Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Frisbie Memorial Hospital
Greg Smith is a Certified Public Accountant in Rochester, N.H. Prior to his current position, Mr. Smith was CFO of a chain of men's clothing stores; CFO for a technical manual writing company for the US Air Force; and a past owner of NAPA auto parts store. Mr. Smith is retired from the New Hampshire Air National Guard after serving 21 years.
Mr. Smith received his Associate's Degree in Computer Science from New Hampshire Technical Institute, and his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, summa cum laude, from Southern New Hampshire University.
Mr. Smith is currently serving as Treasurer of Meadowbrook Village Condo Association, and is the current Chairman of the Board of Rochester Crimeline. He is the past Chairman of the Board for Rochester District VNA, and past President of Rochester and Somersworth Rotary Clubs. Mr. Smith is also a member of the Rochester Rotary Club and the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Smith resides in Rochester with his wife, Judy Atkins Smith, who is an Enrolled Agent with the IRS and is employed full time in Mr. Smith's accounting firm.
Alvin Felgar has been CEO of Frisbie Memorial Hospital since 1993. Before coming to FMH, he served as CEO at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, NH, Charter Winds Hospital in Athens, Georgia and Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mr. Felgar received his BA from Grove City College in Pennsylvania and his MHA from Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.
He is a member of the Rochester Rotary Club, Past Board Chairman of the NH Hospital Association, as well as a past board member of the Liberty Mutual Advisory Board, Rochester Chamber of Commerce and Rochester Economic Development Commission. Mr. Felgar was the recipient of the 2006 Rochester Chamber Business Leader of the Year, received the 2005 Civic Award from the Salvation Army, the 2001 Presidents Award from the NH Hospital Association, and the 1998 Good Scout Award (BSA).
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
John Marzinzik has a long history of serving in the financial field within the hospital environment. In 1980, he started as Director of Billing & Information Systems at North Adams Regional Hospital in North Adams, Massachusetts. Prior to becoming the Chief Financial Officer of Frisbie Memorial Hospital in 1993, Mr. Marzinzik was Vice President of Finance and Facilities at Exeter Hospital in Exeter, NH. He has also served as Comptroller for Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon, Illinois.
He earned a BS in Business Administration at Northeastern University and his MBA from the University of Massachusetts.
Marzinzik is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He is also a board member with the Medical Mutual Insurance Company of Maine
Amy Guilfoil Dumont, MSN, RN, CCRN
Vice President, Patient Care Services
Amy Guilfoil Dumont joined Frisbie Memorial Hospital in 2012 as Vice President of Patient Care Services. Ms. Guilfoil Dumont has a solid background in nursing, progressing to Senior leadership positions in numerous hospitals. She was a staff nurse in Surgical Intensive Care at NE Deaconess Hospital for six years, a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist at Lowell General Hospital for four years, and Director of Cardiovascular and Women's Health Services for eight years at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH. Most recently, she was Vice President, Clinical Support Services and Innovation at Elliot Health System in Manchester, NH.
Ms. Guilfoil Dumont earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH, and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Salem State College, Salem, Mass.
In her current role, Ms. Guilfoil Dumont provides administrative leadership support to Infection Control, Care Management, Geropsychiatry, Emergency Services, Center for Cancer Care and hospital nursing services.
Vice President, Physician Practice Services
Paula Mahoney is a graduate of Boston University with a degree in Communications. Mahoney has over 30 years of progressive experience in dental and medical practice management with a focus on Provider Relations, Physician/Hospital Alignment and Quality Patient Experience and Outcomes.
Vice President, Planning & Project Management
Joe Shields has nearly 30 years experience in hospital management. In addition to the development and implementation of the hospital's strategic planning processes, Mr. Shields also oversees the hospital's construction and renovation projects as well as physician recruitment efforts.
Prior to coming to Frisbie, Mr. Shields was the Director of Marketing Projects at the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine in Portland, and before that the Director of Community Relations at Cheshire Hospital in Keene, NH.
Mr. Shields has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh and an MBA from Nasson College.
He is a certified Member of the American College of Healthcare Administration, and has served on numerous Boards of area non-profit organizations.
Vice President, Human Resources
Prior to joining Frisbie as Vice President, Human Resources in 1992, Ms. Themelis was Senior Vice President for Human Resources for a New Hampshire bank holding company for seven years and Vice President of Retailing Banking for Numerica Savings Bank from 1980 – 1985.
Ms. Themelis holds a BA from Plymouth University, a Certificate from Babson College Executive Human Resources Program, and is a graduate of the Dartmouth College Tuck Business School of Banking and the American Institute of Banking.
Ms. Themelis was Board Chair of Northeast Delta Dental for several years and was awarded the 2010 President's Award for her accomplishments as Chair of NH Hospital Association Worker's Compensation Trust.
She is currently on the Personnel Advisory board for the City of Rochester and is a member of American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Association.
