Frisbie Memorial recognized Great American Smokeout
On November 15, 2012, Frisbie Memorial Hospital joined those around the nation in recognizing the American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout. Information was made available about the health hazards of smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke, and about the 4,000 chemical ingredients in cigarettes. Hospital staff and visitors could also assess their readiness to quit smoking. Frisbie Memorial Hospital's "Choose to be smoke free" program will begin on January 3, 2013 from 6-8pm at Frisbie Memorial. The "Choose to be smoke free" smoking cessation program is designed to help smokers identify why they smoke, what triggers their addiction, and learn the most effective approaches to quitting smoking. Classes will also feature guest speakers in the areas of nutrition, exercise and lung health. The cost of the program is $45.
