Community Wellness Education Program
Living Well: COPD
April 9, 2014 at 6pm
A panel discussion featuring a pulmonologist, a physical therapist assistant and a patient living with COPD. Learn how to Live Well with chronic lung disease.
Living Well: Anxiety and Depression
May 5, 2014 at 6pm
A panel discussion featuring a psychiatrist, a social worker and a patient sharing tips on how to Live Well with anxiety and/or depression.
Healthy Living ClassesBetter Choices, Better Health
Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 5:30pm - 8pm
A six-week interactive program for people, and/or their caregivers, with chronic health challenges.
- Learn tools to manage stress, pain and fatigue, such as relaxation and distraction techniques;
- Set weekly manageable goals;
- Learn better nutrition and exercise options;
- Improve your ability to communicate with your health care team and family about your health.
If you have a chronic health condition such as diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic pain, depression or anxiety, Better Choices, Better Health can help you get back in charge of your life! Exercise and Tai Chi for Arthritis
Class begins Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 9am at the Community Education & Conference Center.
This eight-week class alternates between exercises designed specifically for arthritic joints and the gentle movements of Tai Chi. This class is for people who are new to an exercise program or Tai Chi.
The cost for the eight week program is $20. Registration is required, and can be made by calling (603) 332-3100 ext. 4211.
SafeSitter® Babysitting Class
SafeSitter babysitting classes train girls and boys, ages 11 to 13 years, to be confident babysitters. Students will learn how to manage emergencies through hands-on practice in basic lifesaving techniques so they are prepared to act in a crisis.

A thought provoking documentary examining the "economic, social and cultural" implications of hunger in America. Learn why so many people struggle with food insecurity, and how a lack of healthy and affordable food options affects population health (84 minutes). Discussion to follow screening. Bring a canned food item to be entered into a drawing for A Place at the Table companion book!
