Healogics, the premiere wound center company with 550 centers nationwide, is pleased to announce that Frisb
ie Memorial Hospital's Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine is the recipient of the 2015 Robert A. Warriner, MD, Center of Excellence Award
. To earn this prestigious award, a wound center must surpass national benchmarks two years running:
Frisbie Memorial is the only wound center in the greater Seacoast region to earn the Center of Excellence Award
two years in a row (2014 and 2015). In 2013, Frisbie's Wound Center was designated as a Center of Distinction
before earning the elevated Center of Excellence
distinction. These awards signify Frisbie's ongoing commitment to providing quality patient medical care.
Frisbie's Center for Wound Care is comprised of
a team of specialists, including Medical Director Dr. Patty Hodge, who specializes in Infectious Disease medicine, as well as specialists from General Surgery and Emergency Medicine.
The Center uses a case management approach, assessing each patient to uncover the underlying causes of their non-healing wounds, and works with patients in the areas of nutrition, lifestyle, and care-at-home, and also meets with patients weekly until the wound heals.
The Center specializes in treating chronic, non-healing wounds caused by diabetes, venous insufficiency, pressure, compromised skin grafts and flaps, post surgical complications and more. Staff receive extensive and ongoing training in Advanced Wound Care to improve patient outcomes. The Center also provides Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, which has shown to preserve limbs from amputation and restore patient functionality.
