Since being appointed President and CEO in 2015, Mr. Marzinzik has been actively involved in greater Rochester as exemplified by numerous initiatives to improve community health and well-being. For example, Mr. Marzinzik was instrumental in bringing recovery services to Rochester to help those struggling with alcohol and drug addiction and mental health issues. In October 2016, when the Rochester Community Recovery Center opened its doors, it marked a major milestone for Frisbie Memorial Hospital as it was one of the first medical model organizations to embrace the recovery movement.

Mr. Marzinzik’s focus extends beyond the hospital walls to include more community-based preventative initiatives that help mitigate those factors that correlated to adverse health outcomes. In 2016, Frisbie launched a new community-based program to address food insecurity through its Community Kitchen, which provides a free meal each week to individuals and families experiencing economic hardship.

In addition, Frisbie Memorial Hospital launched a new community-based program aimed at reducing health care costs associated with preventable hospitalizations. Frisbie’s Mobile Integrated Healthcare Program (MIHP) is designed to mitigate gaps in care – post hospital discharge – and reduce chronic disease-related health complications by bringing medical services to the homes of individuals that have primary diagnoses of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and congestive heart failure (CHF). The model employs Community Paramedic Providers (CPP) and leverages existing partnerships in the community to better promote continuity of care, standardize chronic disease management, and improve overall health outcomes.

In 2016, Frisbie Memorial Hospital was named Business New Hampshire Magazine’s Business Leader of the Year for Health Care for its civic involvement and contributions, and for its ongoing commitment to advance positive change in the healthcare industry.
