Volunteer & Auxiliary Opportunities
Becoming a volunteer at the hospital can be a very rewarding experience that is beneficial to both volunteers and to those they serve. Volunteers play a key role at Frisbie by providing extra support that supplements our fundamental hospital services. As a result, volunteers add to the QUALITY of healthcare at Frisbie by helping patients, their families, hospital staff, and the community at large. In addition, Frisbie volunteers automatically become members of our Auxiliary program. (See Auxiliary information below)
Volunteer Opportunities ...
We have a variety of opportunities throughout the hospital and our branch offices, whether you have a lot of time to share or just a little. For more information on our volunteer program, please view our flyer.

Frisbie's need for volunteers grows steadily and we would like the opportunity to meet with you. The Frisbie Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is an active organization of dedicated women and men volunteering their time together for fundraising initiatives to benefit patient care programs as well as to fund their annual Student Healthcare Scholarship Program. The Auxiliary's membership includes all of our hospital volunteers as well as many dedicated individuals from the communities of Rochester, Farmington, Somersworth, Milton, Barrington, Strafford, New Durham, Berwick and Lebanon, Maine. For more information about becoming a member of the Frisbie Auxiliary, please call Betty Jane Meulenbroek at (603) 875-2215 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Auxiliary's History ...
The Auxiliary began in 1923 as the "Hospital Aid" which made and supplied all of the hospital's linens. After becoming incorporated in 1952, fundraising became its primary mission, and in 1954 the Hospital Aid purchased its first piece of equipment for Frisbie. In 1981, the Hospital Aid was renamed the Frisbie Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Major contributions for equipment purchases and expansion of services to patients have been made over the years in excess of two million dollars.
The current Auxiliary president, Betty Jane Meulenbroek, has been a member of Frisbie Memorial Hospital's Auxiliary since 1998 and does a wonderful job directing the special projects of the Auxiliary. Current fundraising initiatives to support patient care programs and the Student Healthcare Scholarship Program include: the Auxiliary Annual Golf Tournament in August, the Fall Annual Tag Sale in September, the Annual Lights of Love event in December, as well as a variety of other fundraising initiatives. For more information about the Auxiliary or these programs, please contact Betty Jane at (603) 875-2215, or email her at email@example.com.
