Better Choices, Better Health

Do you live with a chronic health problem?

Do you care for someone who does?


Frisbie Memorial Hospital is now offering the Stanford School of Medicine's Chronic Disease Self-Management Program to anyone living with or caring for someone with a chronic health condition, such as diabetes, asthma, back pain, or any other persistent health problem. The six-week program presents ways to self-manage chronic health conditions. Topics include: 

  • Learn techniques to deal with problems like frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation
  • Learn appropriate exercises for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility and endurance
  • Learn appropriate use of medications
  • Learn to communicate effectively with family, friends and health professionals
  • Learn about nutrition
  • Learn how to evaluate new treatments

All classes of the six-week program are held in the Classroom located across the Gift Shop at Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Is the Better Choices, Better Health program right for you? Read "Ten questions to guide you on the path to better health."

The six-week class cost $30 and includes a workbook and CD. A limited number of scholarships are available.
