Safe Sitter® Babysitting Program
Better Sitters Today. Better Parents Tomorrow.®
2012 marks the 20th anniversary of SafeSitter® at Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
Throughout the year, Frisbie Memorial Hospital offers Safe Sitter® classes to train babysitters for girls and boys ages 11 to 13. The Safe Sitter® program is a medically accurate program that teaches young adolescents how to handle emergencies when caring for young children.
Thousands of young adolescents across the country have been trained by Safe Sitter® to handle life-threatening emergencies. During the course, students will get hands-on practice in basic lifesaving techniques so they are prepared to act in a crisis.
Safe Sitters also receive helpful tips to make them caregivers that are more confident. They learn safety precautions, how to understand children of different ages, and even the business of babysitting.
To successfully complete the Safe Sitter® program, students must pass a practical and written test to show that they have mastered the key concepts and have the skills necessary to handle an emergency.
The cost of the class is $45; a limited number of scholarships are available based on financial need. Pre-registration is required. Please download the student contract and registration form. For more information, call (603) 335-8140.
