The Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at Frisbie educates those living with diabetes on the importance of healthy eating, and offers guidance on how to prepare meals, learn portion control, and how to make smart choices when dining out.
For those living with diabetes, adopting healthier eating habits can be challenging. Our nutrition team will help you develop an eating plan that will modify your caloric intake so that you can manage your glucose levels closely while losing weight safely.
You can take control of your diabetes by reaching your targets for blood glucose, blood pressure, and cholesterol. Our dietitian and diabetes educator will help you identify these risk factors for heart disease. Some ways to help you manage your diabetes include making wise food choices. Choose fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, lean meats, and low-fat dairy products. Learn when to eat and how much to have.
The Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at Frisbie offers educational classes throughout the year. Education classes are covered by most insurance plans. For more information on our classes or our diabetes program, please call (603) 994-0120.
