Frisbie Memorial Hospital announces its affiliation with the Boston-based Joslin Diabetes Center, the global leader in diabetes research, education and care. The Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at Frisbie Memorial Hospital will support physicians in providing the latest advances for treating diabetes and its complications as well as provide patient education in support of physicians as they use the latest advances to treat diabetes and its complications.  According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), more than 18 million people in the United States live with diabetes. This challenging disease affects individuals of all ages, from every walk of life. Addressing this situation locally, our team of diabetes educators and outpatient dietitians are helping patients adhere to a Diabetes Self Management Program approved by the ADA.
Successfully managing diabetes means living a healthy lifestyle that includes a proper diet, weight management, physical activity, and no smoking. Physician referrals are required for individual sessions or group classes.
