Inpatient Care

Inpatient Services

When you need to be admitted, Frisbie Memorial Hospital strives to provide you with the best care while you stay with us in the hospital. Our doctors, nurses, care managers, and therapists work together with you, your family and with each other to offer a continuum of care, giving patients the ability to return home and to their daily activities, as quickly as possible.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Our state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (ICU) offers high-quality, comprehensive care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Experienced ICU nurses have undergone advanced training in the treatment and care of critically ill cardiac, pulmonary, surgical, trauma and medical patients. The ICU is under the direct supervision of physicians who are board-certified in intensive care and pulmonary medicine.

ICU visiting hours for immediate family members are flexible and based on the patient's condition. Children under 16 are not allowed in the ICU.

Telemetry (Cardiac) Unit

Our 13-bed Telemetry Unit provides a closely monitored environment for patients with acute-care needs. Typically, Telemetry Unit patients are recovering from cardiac, pulmonary, vascular or surgical conditions.

Registered nurses working in our Telemetry Unit have advanced skill training in interpreting and responding to changes in a patient's condition. They are assisted by a team of health care professionals who plan, direct, and continually evaluate the care and progress of cardiac patients in the unit.

Visiting hours in the Telemetry Unit are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Spaulding II (Medical-Surgical) Unit

Frisbie Memorial Hospital's 24-bed Spaulding II Unit specializes in caring for patients who require less acute or post-surgical care. Spaulding II medical staff, nurses, licensed nursing assistants, and unit coordinators work collaboratively with other clinicians, such as respiratory care therapists, dietitians, physical and occupational therapists and care managers to provide specialized and individualized care.

Visiting hours in the Spaulding II Unit are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Women and Children's Health

Frisbie Memorial Hospital's Women and Children's Health Unit is a special facility within our hospital, designed for comfort and privacy for both new moms and their newborns, as well as women and children recovering from surgery. We strive to create a warm and caring environment for our patients in this unit. Sleeper chairs are available for patients who want to stay with their child. Each room features a television and private bath. Our BirthCare Unit is located in the Women and Children's Unit.

Please note: Children who are recovering from pediatric illnesses or surgeries stay in our Women and Children's Unit and may be accompanied by their parents.

Visiting hours in the Women and Children's Unit are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
