Frisbie EMS to offer EMT Courses (11/11/2009)
Frisbie Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to offer two Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses. Beginning Saturday, November 21, 2009 and continuing through to February 20, 2010, Frisbie will offer the EMT Basic course. The EMT Intermediate course will begin on Saturday, February 5, 2010, and continue through to May 15, 2010. Courses are held on Saturdays from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm at Frisbie’s Community Education and Conference Center. The cost for each course is $500 and includes the textbook.
These programs prepare students for the National Registry Examination (separate fee requirements), and are needed for entry into Ambulance and Fire organizations. They are also prerequisites for acceptance into a paramedic program.
In addition, Frisbie offers free monthly continuing education classes for EMS on the third Wednesday of each month at the Community Education and Conference Center. For more information on these courses, or to request an application, please call EMS Education Coordinator, Gary Brock, at 603-330-7904 or email at g.brock@fmhospital.com
