Financial Assistance

At Frisbie Memorial Hospital, we are committed to providing quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all, regardless of ability to pay. It is important that patients continue to receive any medical services that may be needed. To ensure that cost will not be a barrier to our community, we offer financial assistance and help patients apply for other programs that they may be eligible for.

  • Frisbie Memorial Hospital offers an application process and will assess eligibility based on hospital guidelines. In addition to applying for financial assistance, our financial counselors will determine your eligibility for federal or state programs. If it is determined that you are eligible for one of these programs, we will assist you in the application process.

    Criteria Categories for Assistance:
      1. Family income, based on federal poverty guidelines
      2. Assets (home, bank accounts, etc.)
      3. Any additional financial hardship
      4. You must be receiving medically necessary guidelines

  • New Hampshire Health Access Network
  • Frisbie Memorial Hospital participates in the New Hampshire Health Access Network, which provides assistance with medical expenses to the uninsured and the underinsured. This is an application process where eligibility is determined by guidelines set by the Foundation for Healthy Communities. For more information about the application process, please visit HealthyNH.com, or call our financial counselors to assist you in the process.

  • Self-Pay Discount
  • If you are uninsured, a 15% discount will be applied to your bill. After receiving your first bill you may take a 25% discount if paid in full within 30 days.

  • New Hampshire Medicaid / Managed Care Plans
  • If you need assistance with the original Medicaid Application or process, please call our Financial Counselors. Information on all Medicaid Programs, including the Managed Care Plans, can be found at http://www.dhhs.nh.gov/

  • Payment Plans
  • We know that health care costs can come up unexpectedly. Whether you are insured or uninsured, or whether you qualify or do not qualify for financial assistance, we understand that you may have difficulty paying your healthcare costs in full, or in a lump sum, at the time of service. We are happy to work with any patient to set up a payment plan. We offer the capability of making payments online at PayMyBill.

Applying for Financial Assistance

To apply for financial assistance, receive information about other programs, or to set up a payment plan, please call our financial counselors. The financial counselors are available Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm to meet directly with you, or you can choose to have the application mailed to you.
If your last name begins with A-K, please call (603) 335-8109.
If your last name begins with L-Z, please call (603) 335-8885.

Notification of Eligibility

Frisbie Memorial Hospital will notify patients in writing that have applied for Financial Assistance / New Hampshire Health Access Network whether approved or denied. A denial letter is sent with an explanation of the denial. Included with the denial letter is an appeal letter that can be completed by the patient. If the application is approved, an approval letter is sent with a determination date.
For New Hampshire Health Access Network, a card will be included with the approval letter. This card will have the issuing organization, the level of discount and the effective dates.
Please note that financial assistance is valid for six months after which a new application will need to be completed at that time.
