Patient Safety
Frisbie Memorial Hospital is committed to providing safe care to all patients. We recognize that communication is an essential part of patient safety. In March 2011, we implemented Patient Safety Executive Walk Arounds to encourage dialogue between senior leadership, clinical staff and office practices as a proactive approach to patient safety. Under the auspices of the Patient Safety Committee work is focused on:
- Infection prevention
- Fall prevention
- Medication safety
- Improving communication between patient and care providers
- Prevention of pressure ulcers
- Surgical safety checklist
In order to assist us with providing you the safest care, we enourage all of our patients to:
- Ask questions if you have doubts or concerns
- Keep a current list of all your medications and bring the list to all medical and hospital appointments
- Get the results of any medical tests or procedures
- Make sure you understand what will happen if you require surgery
