The Center for Cancer Care and Hematology at Frisbie Memorial Hospital has an expert team of physicians board certified in Oncology, Hematology, and Gynecologic Oncology, an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner also certified in Hospice, Palliative Care, and Tobacco Treatment, and Registered Nurses specializing in safe medication administration and symptom management.

Our clinical affiliation with Lahey Health's Sophia Gordon Cancer Center provides our physicians and patients access to highly specialized surgeries, procedures, genetic counseling and clinical trials.

Oral Chemotherapy Program

Since 2004, Frisbie's Center for Cancer Care has been recognized nationally for its comprehensive Oral Chemotherapy Program. Designed with patient safety in mind, the program is managed by oncology nurses specially trained to provide oversight and assist patients during their oral chemotherapy regimen, including:
  • Monitoring patients to ensure medication is safely administered at patient's home
  • Symptom management
  • Ensure patients have access to medication, minimizing barriers such as insurance coverage, medication availability or financial issues
  • Support
  • Education

Frisbie Memorial Hospital believes in treating the whole person throughout the cancer experience. We make a special effort to provide cancer care that ranges from diagnosis through post treatment. The Center for Cancer Care Oncologists/Hematologists:

Archana Bhargava, MD
Dr. Bhargava earned her medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi University in India. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island, and completed her Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York.  She is board certified in Hematology and Oncology. Dr. Bhargava is the Medical Director of Frisbie's Center for Cancer Care.

Yoko Fukuda, MD
Dr. Fukuda earned her medical degree from Keio University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan. She completed her residency at Keio University and at Beth Israel Medical Center in Internal Medicine, and a Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology.

Loyd West, MD
Dr. West earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. He completed post graduate degree training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California, and at MD Anderson Cancer Center for Oncologic Gynecology. Dr. West is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology .

Paula Caron, APRN
Paula Caron, APRN earned her Master of Science degree in Community Health Nursing from Boston College. Ms. Caron is a certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioner, an Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse, and a Tobacco Treatment Specialist.
