Frisbie Obstetrics Earns Safe Care Designation
July 9, 2019
Frisbie Memorial Hospital has successfully completed the Safe Care: Obstetrics Risk Reduction Survey, achieving the Safe Care: Obstetrics designation. Hospitals that meet all program requirements, like Frisbie Memorial Hospital, have demonstrated, through a review of data from its inpatient and outpatient obstetric departments, a commitment to patient safety, and have in place quality improvement processes to reduce risk and improve patient outcomes as well as a comprehensive perinatal patient safety program.
“In order to deliver a high quality of care for the people we serve, continuing education is the key to consistency. The staff and providers of FMH recognize that and I’m grateful for the commitment they show every day,” said Jocelyn Caple, MD, President and CEO of Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
Hospitals that successfully complete the Risk Reduction Survey have a perinatal team (obstetrics physicians and nurses) dedicated to improving perinatal patient safety, enhancing team communication, and practicing in accordance with national recognized standards.
The Medical Mutual Safe Care: Obstetrics program is designed to help facilitate a culture of safety and provides access to standardized education and individualized learning paths for clinical members of the perinatal team.
