Frisbie’s Wound Center earns national award sixth consecutive year

Frisbie Memorial Hospital’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine has been recognized for the sixth consecutive year, as a Center of Distinction and a Center of Excellence, for achieving continued excellence in wound healing and surpassing key performance indicators including:
- Patient satisfaction (greater than or equal to 92%)
- Media days to heal (less than or equal to 30)
- Healing rate (greater than or equal to 91%)
- Outlier rate (less than or equal to 19%)
The Wound Center employs an evidence based, peer-reviewed and cross-specialty collaborative approach to treat chronic wounds. It is staffed by a team of medical professionals with expertise in the areas of infectious disease, vascular surgery, general surgery, podiatry, and emergency medicine.
The Wound Center specializes in treating chronic or non-healing wounds that do not respond to conventional treatment. A wound that does not respond to normal medical care within 30 days in typically considered chronic.
