Frisbie Memorial Hospital in collaboration with Live Free Recovery Consultants held a press conference on August 22nd to announce a joint effort that brings outpatient substance abuse services for adolescents to Rochester. Live Free Recovery is now sharing space with Rochester Community Recovery Center, located at 48 North Main Street in downtown Rochester.
Live Free Recovery’s Adolescent Intensive Outpatients (IOP) substance abuse program combines traditional IOP clinical components with peer-to-peer supports to treat adolescents, ages 13 to 17, with a substance use disorder.
The intensive outpatient program, which meets four times a week for four weeks, helps teens to understand so that they can better manage their substance use disorder as well as helps teens meet academic and occupational goals. Teens also learn the importance of having a healthy support system so that they may live a healthy and balanced life.
“Now is the time for us to start driving the programs down into younger individuals, hopefully to prevent them from making choices they are going to regret for the rest of their lives,” said John Marzinzik, president and CEO of Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
