Frisbie Memorial Hospital launched its school-based dental education program in 1999 to help improve the dental health of children. Today, Frisbie Smiles reaches children in 14 schools in five communities:
Because good dental habits begin at an early age, our dental hygienists visit grades one through three to educate children about good oral hygiene. In addition, children who do not have a dentist are eligible for dental screenings, cleanings and sealants.
The American Hospital Association has chosen Frisbie Smiles for inclusion in its 2016 edition of “Community Connections: Ideans & Innovations for Hospital Leaders.” The annual publication features case examples from across the country and is distributed nationwide to hospital CEOs as a way to inspire initiatives and spark dialogue. Only two programs from each state are selected every year. View the AHA’s 2016 case example booklet and read about Frisbie Smiles.
