Frisbie & HCA Application Notice Announcement

Frisbie Memorial Hospital Takes Important Step Toward Joining HCA Healthcare

Frisbie Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees finalized an agreement to join HCA Healthcare, and submitted the required application paperwork to the N.H. Attorney General’s office for regulatory review.

“After a thorough examination of all available options, we are convinced that the integration with HCA Healthcare will only enhance the already high level of care delivered by the FMH community. This week the Board of Trustees submitted the formal transaction application to the N.H. Attorney General’s office. We look forward to sharing more details about opportunities this relationship offers at the appropriate time of the regulatory process which is now underway,” said Brian Hughes, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Frisbie Memorial Hospital.

Upon successful completion of the regulatory process, Frisbie Memorial Hospital will join Parkland Medical Center and Portsmouth Regional Hospital as part of the HCA Healthcare family in New Hampshire.

“We look forward to welcoming Frisbie Memorial Hospital to the HCA Healthcare family. Throughout our discussions, we have been impressed by the high quality and compassionate care provided by the physicians and employees,” said Tim McManus, president of HCA Capital Division. “Frisbie has served the Rochester community for over 100 years and, together, we are excited to continue this legacy of caring for many years to come.”

State law allows 120 days for the N.H. Attorney General’s office to conduct this transactional review. During that 120 day period, FMH will conduct public informational forums to discuss the benefits and impact of the strategic integration with HCA Healthcare. Forum dates will be determined with guidance of Attorney General’s office.

“The real foundation of Frisbie Memorial Hospital is the community of providers, staff, and volunteers who are so committed to the people we serve. As we enter the next phase of this transition process, I continue to be very proud and inspired by the focus and professionalism I see every day. The people we care for expect the high standard of excellence Frisbie is known for, and that’s what we will provide,” said Jocelyn Caple, MD, President and CEO, Frisbie Memorial Hospital.

Expanded details of application can be reviewed at the Office of the New Hampshire Attorney General Charitable Trusts website.
