Comprehensive Care for Patients with Acute Care Needs
The Behre Coronary and Intensive Care unit provides a closely monitored environment for patients with acute care needs. The unit’s private rooms provide high-tech cardiac monitoring and are dialysis capable. Typically, patients are recovering from cardiac, pulmonary and vascular conditions, or from surgery.
The unit also provides comprehensive care for critically ill patients. Experienced ICU nurses have undergone advanced training in the treatment and care of critically ill cardiac, pulmonary, surgical, trauma and medical patients. The ICU is under the direct supervision of a board-certified intensivist specializing in internal medicine, infectious disease and critical care medicine.
Registered nurses working on the Behre Coronary and Intensive Care unit have advanced skill training in interpreting and responding to changes in a patient’s condition. They are assisted by a team of health care professionals who plan, direct, and continually evaluate the care and progress of cardiac patients on the unit.
Visiting hours in The Behre Coronary and Intensive Care unit are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
For critical ill patients, visiting hours for immediate family members are flexible and based on the patient’s condition. Children under 12 years of age are generally not allowed in the ICU.
