Financial Assistance

Frisbie Memorial Hospital provides care to all people regardless of ability to pay. We are committed to providing quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all. It is important that patients continue to receive medical services, and to ensure that cost will not be a barrier to our community, we offer financial assistance and help patients apply for other programs that they may be eligible.

Frisbie Memorial Hospital’s financial counselors will assist you with the application process and assess your eligibility for all programs based on hospital, federal, and state guidelines. Applicants will have up to 240 days from the first billing date to apply for financial assistance.

Criteria Categories for Assistance:

    1. 1. Family income, based on 200% of the federal poverty guidelines
    1. 2. Assets (home, bank accounts, etc.)
    1. 3. Any additional financial hardship
    1. 4. You must be receiving emergency and medically necessary services

New Hampshire Health Access Network

Frisbie Memorial Hospital participates in the New Hampshire Health Access Network, which provides assistance with medical expenses to the uninsured and the underinsured. This is an application process where eligibility is determined by guidelines set by the Foundation for Healthy Communities. Self-Pay Discount

If you are uninsured, a 50% discount will be applied to your bill.

New Hampshire Medicaid / Managed Care Plans

Payment Plans

We know that health care costs can come up unexpectedly. Whether you are insured or uninsured, or whether you qualify or do not qualify for financial assistance, we understand that you may have difficulty paying your healthcare costs in full, or in a lump sum, at the time of service. We are happy to work with any patient to set up a payment plan. We offer the capability of making payments online at PayMyBill.

Applying for Financial Assistance

To apply for financial assistance, receive information about other programs, or to set up a payment plan, please call our financial counselors. The financial counselors are available Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm to meet directly with you, or you can choose to have the application mailed to you. You may also download the financial application here. Failure to apply for Medicaid will result in an automatic denial for all programs.

Notification of Eligibility

Frisbie Memorial Hospital will notify patients in writing that have applied for Financial Assistance, in writing, whether services have been approved for free care or assistance. If the application is approved, a letter is sent with a determination date. If not approved, a denial letter is sent with an explanation. Included with the denial letter is an appeal letter that can be completed by the patient and resubmitted to the financial counselors. Financial assistance is valid for six months after which a new application will need to be completed.
