Your Joint Replacement Team

A multidisciplinary team dedicated to your recovery

While you and your family are the most important members of the team, our entire staff will help guide you through the actual surgery, your rehabilitation, and your overall recovery. One-on-one care from experts — surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, therapists, care managers — ensure that your recovery progresses exactly the way you expect. Your joint replacement team includes:

The Orthopedic Surgeon

In addition to performing the surgery, your surgeon will work with the other team members to facilitate your recovery.

The Anesthesiologist

Prior to your surgery, your anesthesiologist will meet with you to help you decide which type of anesthesia is best, given your medical history and physical exam.

Registered Nurses and Other Skilled Staff

Our specialists in medical-surgical care will assist you throughout your surgical experience.

The Occupational Therapist

They will meet with you before surgery to assess your physical abilities, to review any precautions and limitations, and to recommend what you will need for adaptive equipment.

Patient Navigator

You will meet the patient navigator during your hospital stay. They will supply you with their direct phone line to assist you with any questions you may have.

The Physical Therapist

Your therapist will perform a complete evaluation to assess any problems that you may have to develop your plan of care and goals for treatment.

The Case Manager

A resource throughout your surgical experience, your case manager will meet with you before surgery to start a discharge plan to meet your level of function, level of support, and living situation.
