Information, guidance and resources
We are committed to providing our patients with medical expertise, advanced, state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical technology, compassionate care and comfort.
Before your visit
For your comfort, you may want to bring a few personal items such as slippers, a nightgown or pajamas, a bathrobe and personal toiletry articles. We are not responsible for items that are not secured in the hospital’s safe, such as cash, jewelry, electronic devices or other valuables.
Arrival for your procedure
Except in an emergency situation, your admission to the hospital will be scheduled by your personal physician. Please enter at the main hospital entrance on the ground level and ask for Patient Access, which is located in the lobby on the first floor.
A Patient Access representative will ask for certain information required for your patient record. Please be assured that this information will be kept in the strictest confidence and will be carefully preserved as part of your medical record. In order to avoid delays, we ask that you bring your insurance card, a photo ID and any other information relating to your health insurance.
Hospitalist care during your hospital stay
We recognize the importance of comprehensively managing your care. Your hospitalist is a hospital-based physician assigned to direct and coordinate all inpatient care from the time of your admission to the day of discharge. Working closely with your own primary care physician (PHP), our hospitalists oversee the care and treatment of all medical conditions from routine healthcare problems to complex diseases.
Our hospitalist offers:
- Coordination of care with your PHP and other clinical team members, where you receive an additional layer of care during the treatment process
- Easy access to patients and family members for updates and other information
- On-site inpatient care 24/7
- Resources for ordering medical tests and making key decisions regarding the patient’s treatment plan
- Timely access to all key hospital personnel, including medical specialists, care managers, discharge planners and PHPs to help better manage patient care and recovery
Discharge information
Your physician will write the necessary discharge orders when it is appropriate for you to leave the hospital. A physician or nurse will provide instructions for your recuperation at home and follow-up requirements, if necessary. If you do not fully understand these instructions, please be sure to ask for clarification or for more information.
Case management services
Our case management team is comprised of nurses, social workers, discharge planners and health insurance specialists. We are cross-trained to provide care and advocacy to help meet your individual, clinical and emotional needs. Specially trained case managers help you and your family cope with illness and develop a safe discharge plan for home or to another facility. Our case managers make referrals to outside agencies, such as rehabilitation facilities and visiting nurse services. We can also provide information regarding financial assistance programs.
Patient meals
As part of your care and under the direction of your doctor and registered dietitian, meals are planned and prepared based upon your specific needs. Meals are delivered to your room on a set schedule. Please inquire with the nursing staff for scheduled delivery times.
Guest meal trays are available to a visiting family member if they would like to join you.
Visitors may also dine in the café Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 7:00pm and weekends and holidays from 7:00am to 6:30pm.
