Partial hospitalization programs
Our adult PHP is our outpatient behavioral health service. This program is offered at a main hospital campus as well as our satellite location in Gilford. Both programs provide short-term, intensive daytime support in a structured setting, while allowing individuals to return home at the end of each day.

To join our PHP, you must:
- Be an adult in need of short-term behavioral health stabilization
- Commit to attending two to three consecutive weeks of weekday programming
- Have reliable, daily transportation to and from the program
What to expect from PHP
After an initial psychiatric assessment during the first or second day, you will receive weekly psychiatric follow-ups for medication management. Every day you will have five structured group therapy sessions, each focusing on a different therapeutic approach, including:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- Support groups
- Coping skills education
- Activity-based therapies
You also have access to daily support from a registered nurse. As you prepare to leave, you will get individual support and discharge planning with a licensed social worker.
Both PHPs operate Monday through Friday from 8:30am. to 2:00pm. Lunch break from 11:30am. to 12:30pm. Snacks, coffee and beverages are provided and you may bring lunch or go off-site to eat. We also offer cafeteria discounts at our main hospital location.

Inpatient senior mental health care
Our Generations Behavioral Health Unit provides short-term, inpatient psychiatric care for adults aged 55 and older who are experiencing acute mental health challenges. The program is designed to help aging adults stabilize symptoms and return safely to their prior living environment within a typical stay of five to 14 days.
We specialize in the treatment of conditions such as:
- Depression, anxiety, and mood disorders
- Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders
- Medication-related psychiatric symptoms or side effects
- Mental health crisis related to grief, trauma, or life transitions
Our unit is not a long-term facility or nursing home alternative. Patients must have the potential to return home or to their previous care setting following stabilization.
Daily Psychiatric Therapeutic Support
Patients are seen daily by a psychiatrist for ongoing assessment and medication management. In addition, we offer five structured therapeutic groups each day, including one psychotherapy group and a variety of wellness-based activities such as art, music, and movement. These groups are facilitated by a licensed social worker and trained mental health staff.
