Our cardiology program provides comprehensive care to help you work on managing and improving your heart health. We offer a range of services, such as cardiac catheterization, pacemaker and defibrillator implants, as well as right-sided ablation.
Diagnosing cardiac conditions
Every treatment plan begins with a thorough diagnosis at our Primary Stroke Center, which is certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Healthcare. Our imaging and laboratory specialists are equipped to perform numerous tests to better understand any underlying conditions affecting your cardiovascular system.
The diagnostic tests we perform include:
- Cardiac ultrasound imaging studies
- Coronary artery computerized tomography (CT) scans
- Electrocardiograms (EKG)
- Electrophysiology (EP) studies
- Holter monitors
- Stress tests

Treating cardiac conditions

TAVR clinic
We offer presurgical care if you are having cardiac surgery at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. This includes those undergoing TAVR, a minimally invasive procedure to replace the aortic valve in the heart. Our sister hospital is one of the only hospitals in the Seacoast region to perform TAVR.
The board-certified surgeons from this facility also hold cardiac clinics at our hospital. Services available at the preoperative TAVR clinic include:
- Consultations with board-certified surgeons
- Laboratory testing, including blood work
- Postoperative follow-up appointments
- Radiology services, such as echocardiogram (ECHO), transesophageal ECHO, cardiac CT scans and cardiac catheterization

Diagnosing and treating vascular conditions
